sitting around the campfire

thanks for sitting around the campfire with me, I'm sharing my rough draft of a new tune

I didn't get sleep last night I was just
lying there trying not to think of this
Imagine, running into you oh just
standing there all making sense and so full of it.

what was I thinking even following you around?
I could be out there sinking
but youre nowhere to be found
Im not looking for a life line baby,
I know how to swim
I wont be falling over board,
so you wont be jumping in

the way you look at butterflies
I've wondered if that look could ever be for me
well look around its no surprise
like a statue in some garden we're all at youre feet

I know, I know theres no safe place to fall
were bout as close now as that poster hanging on the wall
it doesn't matter if you let it make you strong
....or just sit down and write a song....

Rachael: I watched the video, and Bravo! (clapping) I dig it! It reminds me a little of Joni Mitchell or Joan Baez, but it's also YOU. That's amazing! I also was in the mind of some other singer/songwriters I have heard at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (where I also heard The Paperboys, they are in your neck o' the woods, I think, really like them), but I can't place the name.

Still, the important thing is it came across as you, as I said. It takes a certain kind of courage to do that for the camera, and you nailed it! Good stuff!

I don't know if you have visited with Us And Them, but the Captain is in your area, too. I'll maybe give him a nudge to come visit.

Thank you so much for the follow, I am honored and humbled, glad to have you on board. And Music! O, lovely day! :)

Mr. Irish Gumbo himself directed my little bootay over here and I'm so glad he did. You'll be followed for sure after this. I love your style and lyrics. Beautiful, just beautiful.

That Gumbo sure gets around. That's what happens when you're unemployed. Wait... I'm unemployed...

Great song, Rachael.

Ok, so I tried to comment on this post from work, but apparently the internet there sucks, so sorry for being behind.
What I was TRYING to say this morning is that you have an beautiful voice and an incredible talent for writing lyrics. Keep it up!

I love it! Thanks for posting the lyrics, too - I'm a word girl. You have so much talent! I'm so super impressed that you can sing AND play AND dance AND make lovey eyes with the camera, all at the same time. Great song!!
